Maquettes!
So I've been casually working on a couple of projects, but decided to follow a tangent direction and create some miniature models of fantasy/sci-fi landscapes. My big issues with art are always perspective and light, especially when it comes to environments - I definitely need more practice with a real subject in front of me, and since I've imagined certain particular worlds, I'm trying to see if this method is more helpful. Also, not going to lie -- took this idea straight from James Gurney, who does that sort of technique too -- only his models are incredibly detailed, and contain the denizens of his imagined Dinotopia. He makes maquettes of everything and anything, from dinosaurs to the cities and tableaus. But this is the first model I've created, that is essentially finished, at least for its purpose. Enjoy!
